“Character is like a tree and reputation like a shadow. The shadow is what we think of it and the tree is the real thing.”
— Abraham Lincoln
Dan O’Wril founded Blue Ox Tree Service in 2016 to provide thoughtful tree care that is both aesthetically pleasing and beneficial to the environment. Dan has worked with trees all his life, starting with helping his father care for the woods near his childhood home. His first career was as a structural engineer, so he has a strong understanding of tree structure and safety issues. After working at home as a full-time parent for several years, Dan trained in tree care, combining his interest in structures and passion for the natural world.
Chelsea Beliveau joined Blue Ox in 2020 as part of the ground crew. Once she found her footing, she quickly realized she was interested in climbing and apprenticed with Dan in the trees. She was also mentored by Melissa and Bear of Women’s Tree Climbing Workshop (WTCW). After a leave of absence to have her second child, Chelsea returned to Blue Ox to run point in a management role behind the scenes. Her uplifting presence and great people skills make her a wonderful person to work with. Please reach out to Chelsea for Blue Ox to visit your property and take care of your tree needs.
